    This is really helpful, I have been experiencing this for 2 straight years and the reason was right infront of me I was just afraid of it and used to overthink about everything and every little and meaningless thing that made it even worse rather than helping me overcome it or help me figure out how to get rid of it. Once I stopped the worrying and overthinking it faded away so quickly and now I am able to feel things as before.

      @@Dpmanual I appreciate I also wanted to know how to make the dp stop happening after smoking or is it just a psychological defense that goes away once you are used to the weed

    • @Dpmanual
      @Dpmanual 9 часов назад

      @@stefanocruz4698 Firstly, as I explain in the article, I'd recommend avoiding weed until you're 100% recovered. Secondly, I know DPDR can be scary but just remember that it’s a natural reaction to stress and anxiety, and people experience it all the time. The National Institute on Mental Illness estimates that up to 75% of people experience at least one depersonalization / derealization episode in their lives. It's part of your brain's natural defence mechanism and usually it only lasts a few seconds or minutes at a time. It's only when it's focused on as a separate problem (feeling like you're going crazy / in a dream etc) that it can turn into a feedback loop with the anxiety that caused it in the first place. But no matter what caused it or how long you've had it, you can always switch it off completely by stopping that anxious feedback loop. Make sure to carefully read through all the articles and info on my website at www.dpmanual.com and my book The Depersonalization Manual. And if you would like to speak to a medical professional please don't hesitate to do so. I would recommend finding an anxiety specialist if possible as they will likely be more familiar with DPDR 👍

    how can I not think about the DP/DR distracting myself, if I no longer care about anything about my life, because before entering it I had some bad news that I already couldn't get over and it brought me anxiety, and it had already created a depression in me I wasn't interested in anything anymore, and in this state I smoked a joint for the first time which made me enter the DP, now I've been in it for a month how can I not think about it if I no longer have anything to distract me since I don't I don't care about anything, and this feeling of zeroing out the emotions of DP doesn't make me face the cause of my depression before smoking, am I stuck like this?? How can I do it? Should I try to resolve the cause of the depression first and then go back to not thinking about the PD and making it disappear?? Thank you

    Is it normal for DPDR to feel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is this temporary or chronic?

    • @Dpmanual
      @Dpmanual 5 дней назад

      Yes, as with all anxiety-based conditions it's common to have periods where you're experiencing it 24/7 😊 I know it can be frustrating but it will become less constant and fade away and stop as your recovery continues. Don't worry, you're not back to square one and this is just a speedbump in your recovery 😊 I know DPDR can be scary but just remember that it’s a natural reaction to stress and anxiety, and people experience it all the time.

    It’s scary but you will recover. Understanding what’s happening has helped me realize that I’m okay. I’m alive and I am recovering from trauma. Will never consume weed ever again. I have learned to value my health and I accept what happened. You learn from it and become a better person. Don’t give up, you’ve got this ❤

    A couple of months ago I took an edible with some friends and it was so strong I felt like I was dying. I was in a very stimulated environment and I started having a panic attack. I kept looking at the time and didn’t understand why everything was so slow. I could feel and hear my heart beating, it was extremely scary. I thought I died, I kept thinking that I needed to go to the hospital. I had to call my partner to come help me. Once I was in a calm environment I was able to relax…After this night, I starting having depersonalization symptoms and I didn’t understand what was happening to me. I had a hard time focusing, I would start feeling out of touch with reality and experiences most of the symptoms in this video. I had panic attacks in addition because I was so terrified and confused with what was happening… I have stopped using drugs and drinking. I have done lots of research, and it’s scary but I am discovering that I’m not alone. The anxiety Ive been having in fear of losing touch with reality is what causes it most of the time. I am learning about depersonalization, and it all makes sense now. I am slowly recovering and having less episodes. This video is very helpful … and I have saved it to re watch it in case I get more anxious. I have made life changes and I am on a journey to discover who I am as a person and what I need. I am learning to accept what happened and move on to be a better person to myself. I hope someone can relate to this and know that they aren’t alone. It will be okay, just give yourself time ❤

    I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart.❤ They helped me in every way you can only help another person. In 2021, I had depersonalisation for more than 6 months and I was 16 years old. I will never forget this panic fear again in my life, I have never felt so far away. I thought my life was over forever and there were days when I thought I had to die. They helped me so much with this video, I could start to free myself more and more from this panicked fear afterwards. I am now 18 years old and everything is fine again. All the best for you and to all others concerned! Never ever give up !🫂

    Wow, I feel so accepted and not judged by this video! I've had a few instances where the hangover lasted a few days and due to uncomfortable experiences and past trauma I believe it could be DPDR. As of late I've been smoking because I believe it helps me seriously question myself, and almost releases a level of inhibition that allows me to recognize certain conflicting beliefs that might be causing anxiety in my day to day life. I also seriously enjoyed how you pretty much defined how marijuana induced DPDR (and possibly DPDR in general) can lead to rumination at around 5:12 I enjoyed this video very much

    thank you so much for the video! there is another reason, if it happand from weed or benzo withdrawal or any chimical drug, the fear is that the drug caused a damaged in the brain and thats my biggest fear. i am in benzo withdrawal and never had dpdr so severe, and i had dpdr before that i think it is the most acute dpdr, but the benzo show me that there is much severe dpdr than i ever had (and i had it for many years 24\7) so, i have this fear- that something happand to my brain and this is the reason and it is permanent. i wish to hear about this reasen, what do you think? thank you so much for your videos it is really helpful

      @@Dpmanual I understand. So i have chimical anxity that caused very severe dpdr. The only way to heal is to taper the Benzo that caused injury in the brain, that hit the CNS, GABA receptors etc. so it is only time because my brain need to heal from the damage that the benzo caused. did you hear about benzo withdrawal? i wish i could do more but the only way is tapering and time for my brain to heal

    For people who have recovered from DPDR. Did your recovery come as a sudden event? For example, did you actually wake up one morning with no brain fog, or was it more of a gradual thing? Have your symptoms faded and slowly made a full recovery? And secondly, how you know after the recovery that what you experience ia reality for real.
